Tactical Shooting Class
At Florida Defensive Training, we offer a comprehensive tactical shooting program that is designed to train and prepare individuals for real-life situations. Our Handgun program consists of three levels of classes, each building upon the skills and knowledge acquired in the previous level. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced shooter, our tactical shooting classes are designed to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to handle firearms in a safe and effective manner.
Excellence begins with sound fundamentals, which is why we begin by building a mastery of the basics. During each level of instruction, FDT instructors will work closely with each student to ensure that they have the concepts, information, skills, and support necessary to turn responsible gun owners into exceptional shooters.
Level 1, the next stage, becomes accessible after successfully completing the introductory level. In this 2-hour class, participants take a step up in complexity. They learn to shoot from a holster, practice reloading under pressure, master malfunction clearing, and explore shooting with both their strong hand and support hand. Additionally, they are introduced to various shooting positions, enhancing their overall shooting skills.
The advanced level, known as Level 2, requires completion of Level 1 and successful passage of a qualification exam. This dynamic 2-hour class evolves each month, focusing on specific tactical skills and scenarios. Topics may include advanced speed drills (ASD), close-quarters combat (CQC), vehicle defensive tactics with live-fire exercises, or shielding, protecting, and extracting (SPE) techniques with live-fire components. Level 2 is designed to challenge participants with real-world scenarios and tactics.
All three levels are 2 hours long and are offered in a one-day format once a month, providing a comprehensive and progressive training experience for those seeking to enhance their tactical handgun shooting skills.

Did the intro class and just from that I learned so much. Carlos was our instructor and he was amazing. I came in scared I was going to get beat up 😅 and that was definitely not the case. He was very patient and explained everything in GREAT detail. It’s a no brainer to sign up for this class.

The initial course of FDT was really helpful! It was my first time taking this kind of course and in it I learned how to have a proper shooting stance and grip, what to do on a knife situation, and two other important scenarios. I would highly recommend this course! Don't wait

I became a member appropriately 3 months ago. I enjoy all the classes available to me. They are well planned out, and real life scenarios for surviving a real world attack. Just to mention I am a Martial Artist/ gym owner, and a active firearms instructor. Even with my own experience I feel the curriculum at FDT is priceless and a valuable addition to any previous training you may have. If you are a novice, the instructors take extra attention to assure you are grabbing the techniques. The courses are designed for all level students.

Best training in Miami! More people should try it, no matter the level of experience. Frank does an amazing job at trying to get you where you want to be and pushing you in order to excel. I have improved in more than on aspect since I started training here. I recommend for everyone!!!

Great great great location for trained and untrained individuals. Great ways to work out while working on mental stress. Frank is amazing in listening when it comes to what YOU as an individual want to work on. Whether it's self defense, tactical training, or even cardio conditioning he will TEST YOU and you will be a much better improved person mentally and physically. Always recommended! I’ve trained extensively in martial arts and firearms for a while, and this facility is by far one of best I’ve ever been to. I got some awesome new techniques that took my skillset to the next level. It was clean, but it still had that gritty feeling of a place where you were about to get that work in. I have been training with Franck for more than 6 months and he is by far, the most patient instructor out there. He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and the passion he has for what he does is like no other.
